24-26th of January 2018
This is a highly interactive small group based course. We aim to have no more than 3 in any group maximizing candidates hands on experience and learning.
After a very entertaining physics lecture the first day is pure anatomy using a 3D overview followed by live demonstration of US anatomy and then spend the rest of the day studying cadavers specifically dissected with regional anaesthesia in mind.
On the second day you have all day for scanning models, needling phantoms, at the end with the option of performing a small block on yourself or take a brief test.
The third day is for senior trainees and consultants to perform blocks under expert supervision on patients reinforcing the learning of the previous 2 days.
This very successful course is in its 11th year, and continues to provide the important first steps in developing safe independent regional anaesthesia practice.
